Four Things God Wants You to Know:
- You are a sinner and separated from God. "There is none righteous, no, not one... for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:10, 23)
- There is an eternal penalty for your sin. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." (Romans 5:12) "For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23)
- God's love has made a way for you to escape the death penalty by offering a substitute. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
- You must trust Jesus Christ alone as your Savior to receive eternal life. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13) "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31)
If you truly believe these facts from the Word of God and want to have the security of knowing that your sins are forgiven, and that you have eternal life, you can pray a prayer to God such as the following prayer. God promises to hear and answer those who believe Him.
Being convinced that I am a sinner, and knowing I am lost,I believe that "Christ died for the ungodly," and I now, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and with His help, I intend to confess Him before others.
